A tranquil walk in the forest or along the Lac de Lourdes, a brisk mountain hike to the largest waterfall in Western Europe, or to a beautiful Pyrenean mountain lake are all possible!

You will get to know the region well through gastronomy and the craftmanship in the Hautes-Pyrénées. It is part of daily life, but is mainly expressed when there is something to celebrate. Taste the specialties from the Bigorre on the basis of our recipes and restaurant tips. Saunter across the markets with their characteristic Pyrenean atmosphere. Get acquainted with the local manufacturers. Smell the different perfumes and taste the many flavours. You will soon understand that one has a very good life here!

The Sanctuaries of Lourdes
Holiday home La Paloumère is located approximately 3 km from the sanctuaries of Our Lady of Lourdes. You will be immersed in the Catholic pilgrimage site where approximately 6 million visitors commemorate the apparitions of Mary to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 every year. You can celebrate a Holy Mass in all languages in the 22 churches from April to October, or take part in the international High Mass, the daily eucharistic procession or Marian light procession.

Summer activities
The unspoilt mountains of the French Pyrenees guarantee numerous summer activities and form the ideal location for an active holiday! The range varies from relaxing in the wellness, swimming in one of the pools or lakes, strenuous cycling routes from the Tour de France, to challenging descents by mountain bike or through the wild waters. There are many beautiful car routes in the Pyrenees for car enthusiasts amongst us. They are indicated and they combine a maximum view with a minimum of effort!

Skiing in the Hautes-Pyrénées
Holiday home La Paloumère in Lourdes is an ideal base for visiting many well-known ski resorts in the French Pyrenees. There is sufficient quality snow between November and March and you can go for a lot of fun in the snow. Bring your skis along or rent your equipment locally. You will find all the amenities for an unforgettable skiing holiday! The mountain guides are ready to guide you!
The ski resorts of Hautacam, Val d'Azun, Cauterets, Tourmalet and Gavarnie are easily accessible from the holiday home.
