Gastronomy
Treat your taste buds to the delicious specialties from the Bigorre and Hautes-Pyrénées! You will undoubtedly already know the white beans of Tarbes, to be combined deliciously with mutton from the Barèges-Gavarnie region. This typical dish can, of course, be tasted in combination with a Madiran wine, which was already appreciated by the Romans. Do you prefer white wine? Then try the Pacherenc!
As an aperitif or starter, there is also the "Noir de Bigorre", a black pig that is reared outdoors and that mainly feeds on acorns and chestnuts.
In addition, there is the ‘garbure’, a delicious vegetable and bean soup, with confit and ‘camayou’ (cured ham of the region).
